This site is intended as a source of information for owners
of the 1998-2002 Ford Cougar and includes some pictures of my 2000 2.5L V6
model, together with details of the modifications that I have
made since becoming a UK owner in April 2001. Further resources include
technical specifications, owners manuals, dealer brochures, promotional
videos and links
to external sites which may be of interest to other owners. The Cougar was produced from
1998 until 2002 with the majority being sold in the United States. The cars
were assembled in the US at the AutoAlliance International plant in Flat Rock, Michigan.
Vehicles destined to be sold in Europe were finished
at Ford's Cologne plant in Germany where they were prepared to
European specifications and had Ford badges applied. In the US it had different branding,
being marketed there as the Mercury Cougar.
